RAREBITS

When I began to print my homemade Bob's Dreamzine (1992), another self-published dream comic came out. The professional, monthly Rarebit Fiends by Rick Veitch (King Hell Press). After reading them, it wasn't long before I had a dream with Rick in it. So I drew it up and got it published in Rarebit Fiends. I've since had more dreams published in his come-back editions (in 2019 & 2020). His books are amazing.

I even had another dream (unpublished) featuring Rick (A Closer Look, shown here below). He said I gave him "chiseled features".

His comic was named in homage (or fromage) to Windsor McCay's collection of dream comics (1905), 110 years ago (at left), which was made into a film (1906) the following year (below).
